3D Files

The 3D files that make up the interactive 3D viewer are available for download.
These files have been prepared for you in Blender. A basic scene setup - the meshes, the textures, the landscape, lighting - is provided to get your started.
These are not the source files from the high-resolution 3D renders at tenochtitlan.thomaskole.nl. Instead, the scene has been simplified to meet lower-end hardware demands, so that anyone can experiment.

Technical info

Compatible with blender version 4.3 or later. Renders with EEVEE or Cycles. The .blend file is self contained. The textures included are uncompressed, unlike the online 3D viewer. The Sun Position addon is recommended.
The software required to open this file can be downloaded from blender.org

What to expect

This Blender file contains the 3D tiles present in the interactive 3D viewer. These files have limited fidelity, and are not meant to be viewed up-close. They are, however, lightweight and easy to manipulate. You are welcome to mix-and-match, reuse or replace any of the elements.
